Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
