Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' mantra that draws so many fans into the National Football League
This outcome could have created things up for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their eight and two competitors
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the NFL's top running game was crucial too, with Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard season average
Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that Miami turned into a touchdown just two plays
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team from the situation - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year
Miami have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the New England, they're among three 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Colts beating the Denver
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight victories, just like Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was huge
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly earns point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to victory
The defense is reliable and rookie rusher Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be better than all of the three different eight and two teams are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a contest
Each could realistically be without a loss as well - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly two of the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and contributing another 42 {receiving yards
